About Thor

Thor is an international champion of 7 European countries. He is our first basenji and I can freely say he thought us all we know about dogs, the breed, and cynology. He also ignited my true passion for breeding basenjis. I never thought I could feel such love for a dog, and simultaneously be so irritated by his mischiefs. Thor is definitely a charismatic dog. Thor has won Croatian 2017 prize as the best show dog of all Nordic breeds. In Finland his head is portrayed on the plaque given to the winner of the Finland basenji specialty show.

Thor is extremely fond of people and particularly children. He loves cuddling with them. This is probably in big part due to spending his first months in the company of two young boys, sons of Liv and Dag, owners of the esteemed Norwegian kennel Kingwanas. Liv and Dag put a lot of effort in producing not only top pedigree basenji, but also an excellent family member. Thor is very attached to my husband who almost daily roam with him in the wild. He is extremely intelligent. It seems he understands all we tell him and he shows great creativity when chasing animals in the wild. His intelligence was visible from the very beginning. That is why he got his kennel name Kingwanas Quizmaster. Some of his offsprings ended up in agility training.

Thor is smart, stable and powerful alfa male. He is a big hunter and in the same time a spoiled child who loves cuddling and must have physical contact with us all the time. And he hates being home alone.
